Nordstrom Rack To Open 10th New Jersey Store in Manalapan Commons
A huge 26,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack will move into the old Bed Bath & Beyond location at Manalapan Commons next March. This will be the tenth store in New Jersey, with shoppers looking forward to its opening on March 27. Nordstrom has nearby locations in Monmouth County and Ocean County.
The new store is part of a big nationwide expansion, with 21 stores planned to open this year. Customers will find popular brands at discounts up to 70% off on clothes, shoes, makeup, and home items.
Deal-seeking shoppers have helped boost sales by 4.7% for the discount chain in 2024. The new location will be next to Best Buy and Panera Bread in the busy shopping center.
“The addition of Nordstrom Rack enhances the center’s appeal to the local community,” said Leigh Lyons of Urban Edge Properties.
Out of 377 stores across the country, 277 are Rack locations. New Jersey currently employs over 1,500 people across four regular stores and nine Rack stores.
Big changes are coming as the Nordstrom family teams up with Mexican retail giant El Puerto de Liverpool. Their $6.25 billion deal puts the family in charge with a 50.1% stake.
Crews have fixed up the Manalapan space to match Nordstrom’s style. The store hopes to bring more shoppers to nearby businesses while creating new jobs.
Their discount store approach keeps attracting more customers. By selling designer brands at lower prices, they’ve found success with budget-conscious shoppers!
