Sopranos ‘Big Pussy’ Is Coming To The Jersey Shore
Well, everyone, if you’re a Sopranos fan you won’t have to go far to see one of the stars of the iconic show. Vincent Pastore AKA “Big Pussy” is bringing his band, The Gangster Squad to Salty’s Tavern in Lake Como. This show happens on Friday, March 15th 2024. You can get your tickets by clicking right HERE. Salty’s Bar always has great acts to play in there and the back room is always rocking. This show though sounds like it will be on a different level. If you do attend this show just don’t let him know you heard this from THE RAT. Might give him flashbacks to what happened on Tony’s Boat The Stugots.
How Did The Sopranos Star Come Up With This Band And What To Expect:
After Vincent performed Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, Vincent went backstage and said ” I’m going to put a band together and call it Gangster Squad.” He then decided to get in contact with a bunch of other musicians who came out to one of the nightclubs he owned called Crazy Horse Cafe. If you recall that was the name of Adrianna’s bar and rock club in Long Branch. The actor, producer, writer, and now singer’s band sounds like it has a lot of different sounds all mixed into one. The Gangster Squad will give you blues, soul, rock and roll, doo-wop from the 50s. You will know a bunch of hits that Vincent and the band play like Stand By Me, My Girl, Brown Sugar, No Woman No Cry, and others.

An Inside Look at The Sopranos 25th Anniversary NYC Tour
In honor of their 25th anniversary, Sopranos fans gathered in Manhattan for a special tour of iconic filming spots through North Jersey last week, capturing the show’s gripping narrative. The tour, provided by On Location Tours, took everyone through the secret lives of Tony and the gang, and promised by the end of the day we would be “part of the family”. A long-time fan of the show, and recent New Jersey resident (as of October), this was a fantastic way to celebrate the Garden State’s most famous residents and learn a few new things. After this story, if you are interested in taking the tour for yourself, you can book your timeslot here.
A Significant Meeting Spot: The NYC Garment District
To start the tour, everybody was asked to meet at the Button sculpture of the famous Garment District at 39th and 7th. The reason for this is that the Garment District has significant mob ties. Fans of the show will recall Tony venting to Dr. Melfi about him being unhappy with his “work” because of RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) Statutes. RICO laws enacted harsher penalties for those caught being involved in mobster activity, leading to a lot of family members becoming informants for authorities.
Tri-state area residents may be familiar with Thomas and Joseph Gambino. They, of course, are the sons of infamous Mafia Don, Carlo Gambino. Both brothers had a stranglehold on the garment district through their city trucking companies.

Following Tony Soprano
After meeting at the sculpture and getting on the bus, we began the tour where any good TV show starts, the opening credits. Like Tony Soprano, the tour started with us going through the Lincoln Tunnel. Sadly, Alabama 3 was not there to sing that famous song we all know and love. Once we exited the tunnel we were on our way to some of the more iconic spots seen throughout the show.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
