Matt Knight’s “4:20 HIT of the Day” – 6/30/22
Every weekday at around 4:20pm, I’m going to drop a song that I think you should listen to and make the remainder of your workday a bit more mellow with the 4:20 HIT of the Day. What does this mean? Simply, it’s a song that I think will give you some good vibes, ‘spark up’ nostalgia or just remind you about a tune that you might love but just haven’t heard in a while.

Today’s HIT was a major song in the spring/summer of 1976 from Starbuck with “Moonlight Feels Right.” The song reached #3 pn the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked as the 34th biggest US hit of the year. On the Canadian chart, the song peaked at #3 in early August 1976 and ranked as the 51st biggest Canadian hit of 1976.
I think it’s a combination of the marimba solo, the AMAZING attire worn by the band & Bruce Blackman’s mustache that are a perfect recipe for a song that has outstanding lyrics and an upbeat vibe. This was Starbuck’s debut single and they’d fail to see more success in the United States…and that’s a damn shame.
