Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a Jersey Shore BlueClaws game, and let me tell you, it was a night to remember! The seats were great, right behind home plate, but the highlight of the evening was the festive “Christmas in July” theme that added a unique twist to the usual baseball experience.

A Festive Stadium

As soon as we arrived the place was buzzing with energy. The stadium was decked out in holiday decorations, which brought a touch of winter cheer to the summer heat. One of the most entertaining parts of the night was the Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese race, featuring none other than the Gingerbread Man as one of the competitors. Imagine the excitement as these oversized food mascots dashed across the field, with the Gingerbread Man making a spirited effort to keep up. It was an unexpected and delightful addition to the game, and the crowd enjoyed every second of it. Santa made his grand entrance onto the field and the crowd loved it.

The Jersey Shore BlueClaws organization knows how to create a family-friendly environment. The firepits across the stadium added a warm, cozy feel that contrasted nicely with the summer evening. I look forward to going back when it’s cooler out to enjoy this feature.

For those looking for a bit more action, the mini golf course was a big hit. It’s not every day you get to practice your putting skills between innings, and it was a great way to keep the fun going throughout the game. Oh, and did I mention there’s delicious ice cream (hello soft twist with sprinkles!)

The overall vibe of the evening was fantastic. The blend of baseball with Christmas festivities created an atmosphere that felt both lively and heartwarming. It was a perfect outing for a family night, with something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it was the game, the quirky Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese race, or just the simple pleasure of hanging out by the fire pits, there was no shortage of fun.

If you haven’t had a chance to experience a themed game at Jersey Shore BlueClaws, I highly recommend it. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy America’s favorite pastime while embracing a bit of holiday magic in the middle of summer.

Another great year at the Monmouth County Fair!

Barbara knew she was destined for airwaves when she got her first big broadcasting break: announcing the news over the loudspeaker in the middle school principal’s office. Fast forward a few (years and now she’s meeting the crushes she had way back (hellooo Rick Springfield) when she introduces them on stages big and small. Music has been a constant companion throughout her life. She and her husband have a voracious live music appetite and plan family vacations around concerts. She also frequently lends her voice to national commercials (such as Entenmanns Little Bites). She also has a spoiled rotten rescue dog named Mia, and two daughters.
