WindMill Hot Dogs May Be Returning To Ocean County
The best hot dogs and more at the Jersey Shore! That’s the slogan I’ve been familiar with since I moved to the Jersey Shore back in 1996.
My first WindMill hot dog was eaten at the original Wind Mill on Ocean Avenue in Long Branch . That memory is etched into my brain because it was also the first time I stepped foot into the Tradewinds night club in Seabright.
It was a benefit for the Surf Rider Foundation, and the band “Outcry” was playing. Jon Leidersdorff, the band’s drummer was the first to greet me when I walked into the club.
After an amazing night of great music from the Jersey Shore’s best unsigned band, it was off to the WindMill for their famous hot dogs and cheese fries.
Everyone remembers their first WindMill hot dog.
WindMill may be coming back to Brick. The WindMill on Route 70 closed its doors back in 2019 after more than 30 years of serving the community.
Brick, New Jersey is still sad. Currently, that space is occupied by a City MD Urgent Care Center.
Where Will the WindMill Make It’s New Home?
According to the Asbury Park Press, In papers filed with the township Planning Board, Windmill Corp. proposes to turn a former T-Mobile store at 905 Route 70 North into a restaurant. The 1,032-square-foot building is at the Brick Dunkin’ Plaza, across the parking lot from Tiger Schulmann’s, Mattress Firm and Dunkin’.
The plan includes adding a patio for outdoor seating, which requires township approval.
The Best Hot Dogs In New Jersey Are On This List According To Some Experts
We are excited about the possibility of having our Jersey Shore icon back in Ocean County. There’s a WindMill around the corner from the WRAT on Route 71 in Belmar and that’s great.
But for me, it’ll be such a joy to have a WindMill closer to my home in Ocean County.
We’re all keeping our fingers crossed.
