Local Ice Cream Truck Up For 20k Grant from Good Humor
A well-known ice cream truck in Monmouth County is one of five finalists up for the Good Humor Neighborhood Joy Grant Program.
Who Is The Local Ice Cream Truck?
Best Day Ever ice cream truck has been serving Monmouth County for some years, AND, they are a multiple-time Shore Awards winner in our Food Truck category.
So if it was not apparent, they already have some fans.

What Is Neighborhood Joy?
“Neighborhood Joy is Good Humor’s campaign to celebrate and support ice cream mobile vendors. Through Neighborhood Joy, Good Humor will continue to champion ice cream mobile vendors by providing tools and opportunities to support their businesses all year long.”
According to a study conducted by Good Humor, a large majority of the American population, nearly 70%, say they see fewer and fewer ice cream trucks and cars in the area. Residents are basing their observation on how many ice cream trucks were available during childhood.
“The worry of a potential future without the ice cream truck and cart would be devastating – as nearly 2/3 Americans would be upset if ice cream trucks and carts became a thing of the past”, said Good Humor.
The website says the grant program is a part of the company’s commitment to helping truck drivers and pushcart operators sustain their businesses year-round, instead of just during the season.
This program is a means to help address some of these businesses’ typical challenges. The competition winner will be Good Humor’s Joy Driver of the Year and wins $20,000 to invest in/expand their business.
