Neptune Residents Expecting Road Closures Amid Winter Storm
A winter storm is making its way to The Garden State, and Neptune residents should expect road closures.
In a Facebook post made on Monday, The Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management informed the city that the storm will be bringing Coastal Flooding and heavy winds well into Tuesday afternoon.
The office says although it is not currently forecasted to bring more than an inch of snow to coastal communities, snow mixing with rain is still possible. Winds can reach up to 50 mph.

What Residents May See – Flooding
According to the Emergency Management Office, significant flooding on all streets around Shark River will be seen between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Tuesday. This will likely cause road closures on South Riverside, the East End Bridge, and South/West Concourse.
The office recommends residents living within a block of South Riverside or South/West Concourse should park their vehicles on higher ground Monday night to avoid any damage. If the roads are flooded do not attempt to drive.
Winds
Winds are expected to reach out to 50 miles per hour, possibly leading to damage to structures and power outages. Residents should take necessary precautions and secure any items that are left outside.
Any power outages and hazards should be reported to JCP&L.
In the event of power outages, the American Red Cross created an emergency preparedness kit here.
In addition to the emergency preparedness kit, the Red Cross included a list of energy conservation methods.
Snow
Less than an inch of snow is forecasted for Monmouth County. However, a significant snowfall is expected in all areas in the north. Those commuting to work in North Jersey or New York should plan for the extra time.
