TRAILER: Wes Anderson’s New Film Asteroid City Starring Pretty Much Everyone
Filmmaker Wes Anderson is an American treasure. His movies have such a distinct style, look, and feel, it’s as if he’s created his own genre. The man behind Grand Budapest Hotel, Rushmore, The Fantastic Mr. Fox and more returns with a glance at 1955 America in Asteroid City.
The film is set in 1955 as students and parents from across the country gather in a fictional desert town for the Junior Stargazer convention. As per usual with a Wes Anderson film, it is overflowing with talent and features some of his favorite returning actors. The cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Margot Robbie, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, and Rita Wilson just to name a few. Asteroid City will premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival and will open in the U.S. June 16 in limited release, then expanding wide June 23.
