Celebrity chef Jet Tila checked in with me this week and as a Food Network junkie, and it was such a treat to chat with him about all of his projects and fellow chefs.

Aside from being one of America’s best-known ambassadors of Asian cooking, restaurant owner, author of several cookbooks, working as an entrepreneur, partnering with Dawn Professional, and balancing fatherhood, Tila’s career is thriving.

How does Tila do it? Well, he went on to share his thoughts on the evolution of cooking and living as a celebrity chef today. He credits prioritizing his duties as well as time management.

“We’re cooking food. That’s the medium and I think that’s the key because I think we’re such a television and internet society which isn’t a bad thing. It’s just one more way to attach yourself to food via personalities, ” Tila said.

Tila is currently competing in Food Network’s Tournament of Champions hosted by Guy Fieri. The culinary contest now in its fourth season consists of 16 chefs going head to head in a series of challenges.

The 48-year-old revealed to us exclusively that he will in fact be cooking during this Sunday’s episode and says a “really great chef wins this tournament.” So much for getting some inside betting info from Chef Tila! The man is a pro.
