Adele And Ed Sheeran Turn Down Invite To Perform At Coronation, TJ Bryan Still Under Consideration
Great Britain has not seen the coronation of a new monarch since Queen Elizabeth took the throne in 1953, so the upcoming coronation of King Charles III in May is going to be a massive event with all the pomp, circumstance, and pop stars one would expect. However, two of the most quintessential contemporary British artists around today have declined an invitation to perform for his majesty.
According to OK! magazine, Adele and Ed Sheeran have formally turned down the royal request to have them on stage for the Coronation Concert scheduled for May 7. Sheeran has a show in Texas the day prior, and said that getting to London from the Lone Star state in time would be near impossible.
No formal reason has been given from the Adele camp as to why she declined the invite. The international superstar does not have any shows scheduled for the date of the coronation, and as of now has no concert plans beyond the end of March.
Although Sheeran and Adele will not be there, it’s expected that Lionel Richie will perform as well as the re-formed Spice Girls with the usually reluctant Posh Spice rumoured to be taking part. Rumours are also rumouring that Harry Styles will perform as well.
The Coronation Concert committee has not formerly reached out to TJ Bryan, however he is holding out hope for an invite and a chance to play Two Second Tune Trivia with the King and Queen Consort live on stage at Wembley Stadium. Fingers crossed!
