Actress Cindy Williams passed away yesterday at the age of 75. She of course was best known as Shirley Feeney on the ABC sitcom Laverne & Shirley, and she and her co-star, Penny Marshall, were without question two of the funniest people on television at the time.
Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney first appeared on Happy Days as dates for Fonzie and Richie. Soon after they were spun off onto their own show, which was a smash success and ran from January 1976 through May of 1983. The physical comedy abilities of Williams and Marshall were incredible, and the chemistry between these two actresses (and their co-stars) was lightning in a bottle.
With Cindy Williams passing, that means Lenny (Michael McKean) is the lone surviving original cast member.
