New Jersey Aquarium Named A Best In America
Sea creatures are certainly getting a lot of attention for visiting you at beaches this summer. However, there are also plenty of great places for you to visit them as well. Pure Wow has recently published a report identifying the best aquariums in the country, and an aquarium in New Jersey was named.
“Interesting underwater creatures, helpful guides and interactive exhibits mean that everyone will learn somethingāand have a blast, too.” Pure Wow introduces.
The aquarium in New Jersey ranked as one of the best in the country, preserves healthy waters. This includes conservation efforts in-house that create a healthy habitat for the sea creatures they showcase.
This New Jersey aquarium, among the best in America, is a popular tourist attraction for those visiting Philadelphia as well.
Adventure Aquarium – Camden, NJ
To coincide with shark season, Adventure Aquarium has a “Shark Summer” special exhibit open until August 20. Here you will “learn all about sharks’ super senses, how they lose a whole lot of teeth, and other shark trivia during daily Shark Chats.” One of the most fascinating parts of this adventure is the 81-foot shark bridge and the shark tunnel. You can literally walk above or within the sharks’ passages.
The Pirate Passage allows for an interactive exploration where you will come across hundreds of exotic fish and eels. Finally, if you ever wanted to touch a shark or go underwater via a virtual reality experience, they offer that as well.
Adventure Aquarium ACTS program works “to create, educate and enforce sustainable solutions to help save animals from extinction and protect the environment through conservation awareness programming.” This area of Adventure Aquarium organizes Delaware River cleanups from every April through October. Each year these efforts collect over 1,000 pounds of trash.
Additional initiatives like the July Plastic Free Echochallenge can be found in the ACTS section of Adventure Aquariums website. This is where you can also sign up for their free newsletter that delivers up-to-date news on the various programs to partake in.
