Here’s Where Ocean County Orders Food For The Big Game

What’s up with your food situation? Will you be spending an eternity cooking up a storm in the kitchen?

Most people like doing things the easy way by picking up the phone and calling their favorite caterers or eateries. It’s just too daunting to whip up a fabulous feast. You want to focus on your guests as well as the big game.

If I’m not going to my local pub or favorite sports bar, I’m doing the cooking.

A few years ago, I did an Asian-themed  party. I made all kinds of finger food that included a variety of dumplings, including gyoza and shumai. I made a few different varieties of egg rolls too.

I created a bunch of main dishes such as Korean short ribs, beef and broccoli, wonton soup with chicken and spinach, fried rice, General Tso’s chicken, and roast pork buns.

It was an extraordinary amount of work. Even though I love to cook, it was extremely exhausting.

I haven’t made up my mind about what we’re going to do this year. I’m leaning towards staying home and doing something on a much smaller scale.

If I was going to order out, I’d probably call Della Cucina on Route 37 in Toms River. They have some of the best catering in town.

If I was going to do a variety of pizzas, The Slice House on Route 37 in Toms River would get my business. They make a killer broccoli rabe & sausage white pie, not to mention their signature Diablo pie knocks it out of the park.

If you’re planning on bringing food in for your big game gathering, here’s a list of places suggested by the food-loving football fans in Ocean County.

  • Harry's Smokin' BBQ - 240 Dover Rd, South Toms River, NJ 08757

    Harry has won countless awards across the state of New Jersey for his innovative creations. The man can smoke a brisket with the best of them. He’s my friend, thanks to our mutual love of food, If you haven’t had Harry’s Smokin’ BBQ, this would be a good time to check out his food.

  • Breakin Bread Eatery - 1177 Fischer Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08753

    The fan club for this place has taken over the food & community pages on social media. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, and hot dishes will satisfy your football loving friend’s appetites.

     

  • Woodchucks BBQ - 3009 NJ-88, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742

    Another great choice if BBQ is your thing. The wings and the ribs are some of the tastiest in town. Don’t forget the cornbread, that’s delicious too.

     

  • Della Cucina - 1407 NJ-37, Toms River, NJ 08753

    I had gone to someone’s home for a party and the food was out of this world. I had to know where it came from! The host said, “Oh, it’s from my Della Cucina!” They have had my business ever since. The chicken Francese and the eggplant parm were some of the best I ever had. The sandwiches on semolina bread are next level, and the prices are very reasonable.

  • Slice House - 177 NJ-37, Toms River, NJ 08755

    The pizza & sub gods have answered your party prayers. Pizza, pasta, subs, salads, wings and more.  I wouldn’t normally order wings from a pizza joint, but several friends encouraged me to give this place a shot. My favorite so far, are the garlic parm wings. So much flavor!!!!

    If you’re going for subs, the Drunken chicken cutlet parm with burrata, pesto, and vodka sauce will wind up on your list of favorites.

     

  • Denino's South Pizzeria - 869 Mantoloking Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08723

    Some say they have the best pizza in Ocean County. The rice balls are crowd favorite, and the calamari kicks ass. Wings, wraps, subs, apps, and salads make the perfect game day party.

     

  • Blue Collar Catering - 900 Beach Blvd Located inside the Lacey Elks, Forked River, NJ 08731

    These are my people!  They cook for the members of the Lacey Elks. Voted  “One Of the Best Caterers in Ocean County” by the Asbury Park Press, Blue Collar Catering does everything from weddings to football parties. Karen and her crew are hard to beat.

  • Shore Catering - 245 Drum Point Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08723

    So many people I know have used Shore Catering for their events. Everything from Baby Showers to Birthday celebrations have garnered acclaim for the fantastic food and spectacular service.
