I consider Thanksgiving sandwiches next level.
Turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce on either multi-grain bread or a sub roll is hard to beat around this time of year. Heck, throw a spoonful of mashed potatoes into the mix. In fact, make up your own version.
Leftover turkey and all the fixins is the best way to make these special holiday sandwiches at home.
The way you put it together is key to the perfect bite. I can make suggestions, but you do it your way.
Personally, I must include both white and dark meat. Dark meat is moister and more flavorful, but white meat seems to be more popular. I think lots of people are missing out, leaving off the dark meat on the Thanksgiving sandwich.
There are so many names from so many different delis, restaurants, and food trucks given to these delectable handheld meals.
I’ve even seen some places make egg roll versions out of all the ingredients on the Thanksgiving table.
I’ll bet there’s even a calzone or stromboli version of the Thanksgiving sandwich.
I saw a few out of the ordinary suggestions on Reddit on how to put this feast together on items other than bread.

I make two waffles out of leftover stuffing by adding gravy and an egg. Mix it all up and plop it in the waffle iron. Next, I throw on some turkey (2 day brined), homemade cranberry sauce and some melted brie cheese. I usually put the brie away early just to save some for this reason. Put some gravy in a small bowl for dipping and you have one of the most delicious thanksgiving leftover meals ever!
That’s what I’m talking about.
Another person makes something he calls a “Gobblerito.” He suggested wrapping up all the Thanksgiving fixins in a burrito and add gravy on top.
Someone else suggested using those sweet Hawaiian rolls for a Thanksgiving sandwich.
My favorite suggestion has to be making waffles out of the leftover stuffing. Now I need to buy a waffle iron.
Let’s take a look at a bunch of places in New Jersey that make different versions of these Thanksgiving sandwiches for you to wrap your mouth around
