Gene Simmons Underwent Kidney Stone Procedure: Report
KISS was forced to postpone their Salt Lake City show earlier this month with Gene Simmons citing he needed to undergo a medical procedure, and now it appears there are additional details available.
Per TMZ, sources say Simmons was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles in order to deal with kidney stones. A stent was inserted in his urethra to help the kidney stones pass easier, and the stent will be removed in about a week.
Naturally, this news brings up when Simmons said in 2009 he sold a kidney stone he passed on eBay for charity and raised $15,000. Despite the pain and discomfort he’s experiencing, here’s hoping he can maybe do the same this time around and he recovers quickly.
