The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction class has been announced, and now, it’s time for artists to celebrate.

Scroll below to see what the artists had to say about their pending inductions taking place November 5 in Los Angeles.

  • Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo

Pat and Neil issued a statement saying, “We are thrilled and humbled to become part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame family. Thank you to everyone who voted especially the fans and congratulations to all the other inductees.”

The couple, who’ve been married since 1982, also sat down with Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris and Benatar said, in part, “I’ve been lobbying for 25 years to get the real story about how everything began. It wasn’t about me — well, it was about me, partially. It was about us together. I’m very excited and pleased we get to go in together, because that is the real story.”

  • Duran Duran

Duran Duran issued a video statement with John Taylor saying, in part, “We are so honored and thrilled and happy. We really want to thank our fans, the people who’ve been voting for us, really, really pushing and giving us the people’s vote. We’re very proud of that.” (Duran Duran received the most votes on the Fans' Ballot with a whopping 934,880 votes. The next highest was Eminem with 684,237 votes.)

  • Judas Priest

Judas Priest issued a statement saying, “We are thrilled and honored to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame 2022. This is also a great moment for British Heavy Metal, Metal worldwide and our amazing fans who support us and keep flying the flag for Metal and Judas Priest!”

Rob Halford also sat down with Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris saying, in part, “This is such a beautiful moment not only for Priest but for heavy metal here in the U.S.A. and around the world. This is just the power and the reach that the Hall of Fame has. So, it’s time to celebrate!”

  • Eurythmics

Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart said in a brief statement, “We are beyond delighted to announce that Eurythmics have been inducted into the legendary Rock Hall.”

Lennox and Stewart also sat down with Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris with Lennox saying, in part, “To get that opportunity to create was what we wanted. That is what we did. It wasn’t about the end result. It wasn’t about the prizes. If you create something of value, maybe the prizes will come, but you can’t make anything because at the end of the day you were going to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. You have to do the dirty [work], and you have to take the steps.”

Stewart would add, “Our influences, a lot of it came from American music. Obviously, Annie’s Scottish, and I’m British, and we’re going into the American Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I feel quite full circle in a way…I never imagined in a million years that I’d even be making any music, never mind being in America and being put in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

  • Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie said in a statement, “Being elected to the Rock Hall is an incredible honor. I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the voters, to all of my wonderful fans and to everyone at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all of my fellow 2022 inductees!”

Richie also sat down with Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris where he said, in part, “The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is the holy grail, as far as I’m concerned. In terms of your peers, who you’re in there with, the history, what they all had to go through to get there…When you look at that list of what I’m joining right now, to think of my beginnings and to think about the kid in Alabama all the way to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it humbles me to even think I’m in the list.”

  • Carly Simon

Carly Simon said, in part, in the audio clip below, “Well, it’s so personal because it’s not going to be that important to anyone else. I mean, it’s sort of nice for other people to if they like me to say, oh, I’m with Carly Simon just in the way that it’s great for me to be with Todd Rundgren or Bob Dylan or the Doobie Brothers or Robert Johnson or I mean, so many. I can’t even begin to tell you how many people are my favorites. It’s like you join a list of your favorite singers and what does it mean?”

She continued, “It’s an honor, and it’s like any other honor. You’ve got something to show for it in your dreams. For the rest of your life, you’re going to be dreaming about it.
