“We understand how important our local businesses are to the economy here in Ocean County and we want to make sure residents help out as much as they can to support those that are still open,” said Ocean County Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari, who serves as liaison to Ocean County’s Business Development and Tourism Division. “Even though you may not be able to walk into the store as we continue to practice social distancing, many businesses are working with delivery, mail order, and curbside pickup options to get orders to customers in a timely matter.”
There are a few lists being circulated by places such as the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce, The Patch, Downtown Toms River, among many others where business owners can submit their information as to whether or not they are open, and what services are available.
“Residents are still encouraged to call in advance to make sure that the business is open,” said Vicari. “There are many businesses that are taking phone orders or answering emails, so double check with each business to see how to make a purchase.”
