The 2018 GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Honorees List Is STACKED!
Every year, the GRAMMYs award special lifetime achievement honors to some of music’s biggest, most-influential forces, and this year’s list of honorees is one for the books!
Per GRAMMY.com, artists receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award include Queen, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Hal Blaine, Louis Jordan and the Meters.
Wow…this list is “Simply the Best,” right?! I mean “Holly Holy” hell is this an incredible group of artists! “Don’t Stop Me Now” from gushing about these icons!
Okay…we’ll stop with the puns, but considering the artists being honored, we sincerely hope at least a couple of them will perform during the live telecast on January 28 on CBS. Talk about a wasted opportunity!
The GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award falls under the category of “Special Merit Awards” that also include the Trustees Award, which is given to individuals “who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording,” and the Technical GRAMMY Award, which is given to “individuals and/or companies who have made contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.” This year’s Trustees Award recipients include Bill Graham, Seymour Stein and John Williams, with Tony Agnello and Richard Factor receiving the Technical GRAMMY Award.
