Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market Rebrands as Statewide Event After 12 Years of Success
What began as a small meetup has grown into a huge hit, the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market’s change to the New Jersey Punk Rock Flea Market name shows how it’s expanded from 50 local vendors to over 200 sellers across the state since 2013.
The market now pulls in huge crowds of between 5,000 and 7,000 people packing each event across different spots in the state. Next spring kicks off at Cure Insurance Arena, happening April 12-13, 2025.
Taking cues from underground markets in Seattle and Philadelphia, founder Joseph Kuzemka created something special. His idea turned into a lively marketplace where makers, vintage sellers, and music lovers gather under one roof.
“The people here are just terrific… The kind of people that come here are people from everywhere. People from all walks of life. I think that’s what makes it so fun,” said Linda Catz of White Kitchen Candle Company to Trenton Makes Music.
The market’s big success has led to growth at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison. Rumors suggest another location announcement is just around the corner. From weird taxidermy to stunning handmade jewelry, hard-to-find vinyl records, and tasty food trucks, upcoming shows have it all. Celebrity guests and art displays add extra excitement to the mix. Not sitting back on his success, Kuzemka’s reach now includes running major state events like the Capital City Food Truck Battle and Levitt AMP Music Series.
The holiday events keep drawing massive crowds in both Trenton and Edison, making this unique market one of America’s coolest shopping experiences.
