Moisha’s Supermarket To Open Massive Store in Former Howell Stop & Shop Building
A new Moisha’s Supermarket will take over the massive 66,441-square-foot space at Lanes Mill Marketplace along Route 9 in Howell, New Jersey. Once finished, it will be one of the biggest kosher markets in the area. The store is moving into the space Stop & Shop left behind. Its location is perfectly placed near Lakewood’s growing Orthodox Jewish community of 135,000 residents. The market built its reputation on reasonable prices and looking after the community. In one instance, when robbers hit the store’s safe, Binik personally covered a worker’s stolen wages.
For Reb Moish Binik, who got his start in Boro Park, this is another big move forward. He opened his first store after noticing food prices climbing before Pesach. That success paved the way for a second store in Flatbush.
Target and Lowe’s are already popular draws at the busy shopping center. With plenty of parking and Walmart and Home Depot nearby, the spot couldn’t be better. The timing is also perfect, as Stop & Shop shut down ten New Jersey stores last year. At the same time, rival Gourmet Glatt is planning its own huge 67,000-square-foot market at Jackson’s Bennetts Mills Plaza, expected to open by 2025.
While not directly part of the deal, real estate expert Efraim Feder offered some perspective about the new location mentioning that the opening date hasn’t been announced yet.
This new location brings more kosher shopping options to nearby families. Being surrounded by major retailers makes it a convenient shopping destination for everyone in the area.
