Jersey City Ice Cream Shop Set To Open New Asbury Park Location in June
A new ice cream spot is coming to the Jersey Shore!
Milk Sugar Love Creamery is getting ready to open at 1319 Memorial Drive in Asbury Park. Opening in June 2025, this bigger location will be three times larger than their original Jersey City shop. The bigger space will have an industrial kitchen for making ice cream treats, plus a walk-up window for easy ordering. Inside, twelve people can sit at counter seats to watch their desserts being made, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the ice cream-making process.
“It’s been 10 years of Milk Sugar Love and I still deeply believe in what we’re doing, making inventive and delicious ice cream from scratch using locally sourced, all-natural ingredients,” said Emma Taylor to The Local Girl.
Their menu features old favorites while adding fresh choices. Customers will find both hard and soft-serve ice cream along with fresh-baked pastries. The shop’s fan favorites, guava cream cheese, and lemon olive oil, will still be available.
From starting with just a cart in 2014 to landing second place on NJ.com’s best ice cream list, this family business keeps expanding. Their main store stays open at 19 McWilliams Place in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood. After shutting down their Palisade Avenue location in 2022, Taylor moved down to Asbury Park. Two and a half years of living by the shore inspired new ideas from the local food and music scene.
An exciting team-up with Berg’s Smoked Meat in Belmar starts Jan. 25, 2025. Their first joint creation features Berg’s Caraway Crunch flavor, kicking off what’s planned to be many local food collaborations.
The future seems promising with Hoboken in their sights next. This new beach location blends classic soda fountain style with modern elements, complete with comfy café seating and a front-row seat to watch fresh ice cream being made.
