NJ Lottery Players Score Big with $740,000 in Prizes During Holiday Week
Good fortune found two dozen New Jersey lottery players who won prizes of $10,000 or more during the last week of December 2024. Together, they took home over $740,000.
Winners showed up all over the Garden State. Several $10,000 Mega Millions tickets were bought at Cavaco Supermarket in South River, Wegmans in Parsippany, and a 7-Eleven in Cranford. In Newark and Toms River, players walked away with $20,000 from Loaded and Crossword games. A lucky player at Hometown Food Mart in Toms River grabbed a $30,000 Mega Millions ticket.
On Dec. 27, three different $10,000 winners showed up at stores across Denville, Woodstown, and Secaucus. The biggest winner of the week snagged a Jersey Cash 5 prize worth $494,401 at Hainesport’s ShopRite. Earlier that week, on Dec. 23, someone bought a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 at Lumberton’s Pac A Sack.
These wins came as the state lottery office watched the Mega Millions jackpot grow to $740 million for New Year’s Eve. This follows a huge win back in March when a New Jersey resident took home $1.128 billion. Jersey Cash 5 keeps the momentum going with daily drawings. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 45, aiming for a starting jackpot of $100,000 that increases until someone wins.
