Time to Get Festive! The Holiday Beverages are Back at Starbucks & Dunkin
Whether you’re firmly in the camp that the holidays start after Thanksgiving or November 1st, Starbucks and Dunkin have made their stance known. Their holiday menus have begun for the season, with some newcomers as well as plenty of returning fan favorites. Dunkin’s seasonal menu began on November 1st and Starbucks launched theirs yesterday (at the time of writing this), November 7th. So maybe you’re not ready for your Christmas tree to go up yet, but if you want a coffee that tastes like a sugar cookie, you’re in luck.
The Starbucks Holiday Menu
Starbucks decided to first tease the menu on social media on November 1st, letting everybody know when it would be dropping. And today, they released this video to Instagram explaining just what was available this year.
So, as they say in the video, the coffees are all ones we’ve seen before. They’ve decided to bring back the Peppermint Mocha, the Chestnut Praline Latte, the Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, the Caramel Brulée Latte, and the Iced Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai. Other returning favorites include some of the food items, like the Cranberry Bliss Bar and the Sugar Plum Danish.
But if you’re looking to try something new, there are quite a few options. There’s a new refresher flavor, Cran-Merry Orange, which you can get in its original form or you can replace its water with lemonade or coconut milk. There are also new holiday cold foams that come in the same flavors as the coffees. Plus, they’ve got a bunch of new food choices, like the Turkey Sage Danish, the Dark Toffee Bundt Cake, a Penguin Cookie, and a Snowman Cake Pop.
Starbucks also announced that starting yesterday, November 7th, all of their non-dairy milk options would no longer be an upcharge. So if you’re lactose intolerant, or you just prefer the flavor of oat milk in your coffee, you’re in luck!
Dunkin’s Holiday Menu
While Dunkin didn’t make a fun video going into detail about what their seasonal menu would look like, they did post this.
During the Halloween season, Dunkin put out a funny, and slightly chaotic, marketing campaign featuring their Spider Donut. This post was included in that. So what did the Spider Donut share? The new coffee for 2024 is the Holiday Cookie Signature Latte. It has similar flavors to the fan-favorite Cookie Butter Cold Brew, which is making a return to the seasonal menu for its third year this year. There are also two new food items, the Hashbrown Brisket Scramble, and the Almond Croissant.
The Cookie Butter Cold Brew is in good company when it comes to other returning drinks. The Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte, and the White Hazelnut Bark Coffee have also come back this year. Plus, the Cookie Butter Donut is making a return as well. So if you’re a fan of cookie butter, you’re not short on options.
Plus, Dunkin’s also got some in-app exclusive beverages this holiday season. Exclusive to their app is the Spiced Cookie Coffee, the Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate, and the new Brown Sugar Cookie Oat Chai Latte. If any of those drinks are calling your name, you’re going to have to make sure you’ve got their app to order them. Although, if somebody goes to a Dunkin and tries to order them at the drive-thru or at the counter, I’m curious how that would go. If you happen to do it, let me know.
So maybe you’re putting your tree up this weekend. Maybe you think it to be sacrilegious to get in the holiday spirit this early. Either way, there are plenty of festive beverage options out there to carry you to and through the season. And that’s not even mentioning any local coffee places! They’ll be right behind Dunkin and Starbucks with their holiday menus as well if they haven’t put them out already. Anyway, enjoy your festive coffee!
