Christine McVie: Cause of Death Revealed
Christine McVie died suddenly on November 30, 2022 at age 79. Little has been known about her cause of death until now.
McVie’s death certificate was obtained by The Blast, who reported her main cause of death was due to a massive stroke. Under her main cause of death, it was noted McVie was also dealing with Atrial Fibrillation, a type of heart arrhythmia.
The tabloid outlet noted cancer was listed as a secondary cause of death. Specifically, her death certificate lists her cancer as “Metastatic Malignancy of Unknown Primary Origin.” In layman’s terms, this means whatever cancer McVie had spread throughout her body. Whoever performed McVie’s autopsy couldn’t determine the origin location of her cancer.
Additionally, The Blast reportedly obtained McVie’s will. Her estate is reportedly worth $50 million. The outlet states that McVie left her estate to her brother and his children. McVie was not married, nor did she have any children. However, she also left money to various charities in her will as well.
McVie’s death was confirmed in a brief statement that noted she died “following a short illness.” In February while at the 2023 Grammy Awards to honor McVie, Mick Fleetwood said about the future of Fleetwood Mac, “I think right now, I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris. I’d say we’re done, but then we’ve all said that before. It’s sort of unthinkable right now.”
