‘Tiger King’ Zoo Closed After License Suspended
The zoo formerly owned by Tiger King’s Joe Exotic has been permanently closed down after its license was suspended by the US Department of Agriculture.
In a Facebook post, current owner Jeff Lowe, another Tiger King character who took over the zoo in the series, said the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park is permanently closed and will become a “private film set for Tiger King-related television content.”
The report of a USDA inspection at Wynnwood found multiple animal welfare violations, including several repeat violations, according to CNN. Inspectors also found the only refrigerated storage for animal food was a broken refrigerator truck that zoo officials claimed had recently been fixed.
Back in May, a federal judge granted ownership of the park to Joe Exotic’s rival Carole Baskin, who said she’s waiting to see what happens to the Greater Wynnewood animals.
