Eddie Money Reveals Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer Diagnosis
Eddie Money has revealed he’s been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
In the preview clip below from the September 12 episode of his AXS TV reality show Real Money, Eddie and his wife, Laurie, talk about his diagnosis, which came after what Eddie though was going to be a routine check-up at the doctor. Laurie details that Eddie has a tumor at the top of his stomach, and the cancer has also spread to his liver.
“What I don’t want to do is I don’t want to keep a fact of a cancer from everybody…It’s not honest. I want to be honest with everybody,” said Eddie in the clip below. “I want people to know that cancer [treatment] has come a long way, and not everybody dies from cancer like they did in the ’50s and the ’60s. Am I going to live a long time? Who knows; it’s in God’s hands. But you know what? I’ll take every day I can get. Every day above ground is a good day.”
In June, Money underwent minor heart valve surgery and postponed his remaining 2019 tour dates, however, his heart surgery is unrelated to his cancer diagnosis.
