Santana Announces “Supernatural Now” Tour
For Carlos Santana, 2019 marks two major career anniversaries: The 50th anniversary of his performance at Woodstock and the 20th anniversary of his GRAMMY Award-winning album Supernatural. What better to celebrate than with a big tour!
Kicking off June 22 in Phoenix and wrapping August 25 in Wantagh, N.Y., the “Supernatural Now” tour will also feature special guests The Doobie Brothers on the dates listed below.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 25 at LiveNation.com.
The significance of these two anniversaries is not lost on the guitar icon who said in a statement, “Both were monumental moments in my life. Woodstock and ‘Supernatural’ took me to places I never dreamed were possible. I embraced those incredible moments in my life with all my heart. Both were supreme lessons in maintaining focus, heart and integrity in every step every day and to strive to better oneself with a high standard on and off the stage. I cannot think of these two moments without thinking about Mr. Bill Graham and Mr. Clive Davis. They are two of many angels in my life that helped shape my career.”
Supernatural remains Santana’s most successful album to date selling a staggering 30 million copies worldwide and netting two number one singles with “Smooth” and “Maria Maria.” The album also swept the 42nd Annual GRAMMY Awards in 1999 winning a whopping eight GRAMMYs, including Record of the Year for “Smooth” and Album of the Year.
