Springsteen Sneaks into Screening of ‘Springsteen on Broadway’
Fans in attendance at a showing of the Netflix special Springsteen on Broadway at Monmouth University were unaware The Boss was more than just present on the screen.
Per Asbury Park Press, Bruce Springsteen snuck into the special screening at the Pollak Theatre on January 13 shortly after it began, which also featured a brief introduction from Springsteen on Broadway director Thom Zimny. Perhaps he snuck in to make sure people really did like the show and to confirm 236 sellouts on Broadway and a special Tony Award wasn’t just a fluke.
So, what “Brilliant Disguise” did Springsteen don in order to not draw any attention? Just a simple baseball hat said one attendee.
Why would there even be a special screening for something that’s been readily available for a month on Netflix? Monmouth University happens to be the home to the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.
