Ann Wilson on the Future of Heart
Ann Wilson is currently working on her new solo release Immortal, which features covers of songs by artists that have recently passed away, but many are still wondering about any potential future plans with Heart.
Ann and Nancy Wilson, of course, had a very public falling out due in large part to an incident in which Ann’s husband Dean Wetter was arrested and convicted on charges of assault against Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons backstage at a Heart show in suburban Seattle.
When asked about possibly doing anything in the future with Heart backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last Saturday (April 14), Ann had this to say:
“I don’t know. I just don’t know. I do know for a fact that it’ll never go back to being a meat and potatoes, ‘just play the hits and nothing more,’ writing it down old band. That’s why I stopped it, because I felt like it was beginning to disintegrate into commercialism. It was chasing the buck. Maybe that’s idealistic, but that’s what I had to do.”
Immortal is currently available for pre-order at AnnWilsonOfHeart.com. A release date has yet to be announced.
