Hall & Oates Donating Portion of Ticket Sales to American Red Cross
Daryl Hall and John Oates are doing their part to help with hurricane relief.
As the duo prepares for a run of shows in the south, including areas hit by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irene, it’s teaming with the American Red Cross to help with recovery efforts. Hall & Oates will donate a portion of ticket sales from select dates to the organization, which will apply them to relief efforts in the areas affected by the hurricanes.
In a statement, Hall says that “I know everyone has been experiencing hard times, bad luck and a lot of sadness. We’ll try and do our share to help and also give some soulful cheer at the shows.”
Oates, meanwhile, adds, “Hopefully our music will bring a small respite from the damages suffered during the hurricane, and more importantly, I’m hopeful that our contribution to the American Red Cross can help those in need.”
And the Red Cross says in its statement that, “Daryl Hall & John Oates are helping people affected by disasters like storms and other crises by making a gift to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. This gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.”
