Plans Announced For Ringo Starr’s “Peace and Love” Birthday Celebration
Ringo Starr will be playing music in Hollywood to celebrate his 77th birthday on July 7, which he’s also turned into a celebration of Peace and Love.
Starr will perform with an all-star band outside the Capitol Records Tower, joined by Van Dyke Parks and Jenny Lewis, among others; The official released guest list includes Starr’s brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Eric Burdon, Edgar Winter and David Lynch, most of whom can be expected to join him for the show.
Starr launched the annual Peace and Love events during 2008 in Chicago, and he’s also held them in New York, Nashville and Germany as well as Hollywood. Peace and Love events are also slated to be held that day around the world, including in New York, London, Liverpool, Las Vegas, Colombia, Peru, Spain, New Zealand Panama, Russian, Japan, Brazil and even Antarctica.
Starr has been working on a new studio album, and his takes his All Starr Band on the road again this fall, starting with an eight-show residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on October 13.
