Kathy Tierney is a Special Education Teacher at Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor. Nominated by Principal Troy Henderson, Kathy has been in education for 28 years…and we are PROUD to announce that she is this year’s NJEA Community Service Spotlight Winner! A veteran teacher of nearly three decades, Kathy currently runs the Community Pathways program which helps students ages 18-21 prepare for the transition into adulthood. Mrs. Tierney & her amazing paraprofessionals help their students get into the community to work alongside businesses to gain valuable life experience. Kathy’s classes also teach life skills such as money management, resume building and self-advocacy. Her students will also learn cooking skills and shop weekly at a supermarket for their breakfasts & lunches. One of the biggest impacts the class has on the community is through “The Wildcat Shack”, where Kathy’s students will go shopping for community members in need and bring food to their homes. They also maintain the food pantry and process all clothing donations. On Fridays, they run a Thrift Store during lunch where students can buy casual wear, coats & shoes. Leading up to prom, they will have formal wear available too. And if that wasn’t enough, Kathy also is a three-sport coach for the Wildcats including Cross-Country, Wrestling & Track. She’s going to have to add one more title to her resume, and that’s a Teacher Who Rocks and the 2025 NJEA Community Service Spotlight Winner.
Shannon Adiletta
Ridgeway Elementary School

Shannon Adiletta is a 2nd Grade Teacher at Ridgeway Elementary School in Manchester. Nominated by fellow teacher Samantha Greenstein, Shannon has been in education for 14 years. Shannon exemplifies excellence in education through her dedication and innovative practices. Since joining Ridgeway in 2015, she has created an inclusive classroom environment where students of all abilities feel supported and inspired to succeed.
Her passion for teaching is evident in the meaningful experiences she provides for her students, as well as her ability to connect with each child on a personal level. Beyond the classroom, Shannon is a cornerstone of the Ridgeway community and has made significant impacts through her involvement in various initiatives.
One of her most cherished commitments is to “Kevin’s Kids”, a district-wide effort aimed at supporting families in need by providing Christmas presents for their children. Shannon plays an integral role in this fundraiser, pouring her time and energy into ensuring its success and bringing joy to countless families during the holiday season.
She leads other fundraisers; coordinates staff events and organizes initiatives that enhance the school’s culture. Her dedication to building strong relationships and fostering a sense of community makes her an invaluable asset to Ridgeway and now makes her a Teacher Who Rocks.
Christin Connell
Spring Lake Heights Elementary

Christin Connell is a Kindergarten Teacher at Spring Lake Heights Elementary School. Nominated by fellow teacher Jessica Hansen, Christin has been in education for 18 years and she welcomes her students every day with warmth & love.
She has a unique way of making every child feel like they’re “rock stars” and they can do anything. One thing she always tells her students is, “I don’t need you to be PERFECT, I just need you to do your best work!” Christin also leads her colleagues and takes pride in sharing her own creative ideas without hesitation.
She will take the time to listen and engage with parents with her natural love for children while showing empathy towards everyone. She also takes the time to communicate with community workers as well. Her students see this level of respect and it shows when they model her behavior. Christin Connell is patient, kind, loving and an extremely passionate educator.

Patti Dalon is a Science Teacher at Southern Regional Middle School in Manahawkin. Nominated by fellow teacher Ali Brown, Patti has been in education for 22 years. Mrs. Dalon consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication to her students both inside & outside the classroom.
Throughout her tenure in the Southern Regional School District, Ms. Dalon has fostered an atmosphere characterized by educational excellence, compassion and community spirit. Her friendly disposition extends not only to her students but also to her fellow educators. Patti is always the first to aid any student or colleague in need. For example, last year a new student who was struggling with school attendance & emotional challenges found solace in Patti’s warm and welcoming approach.
Over time, he began attending school regularly and thrived in the classroom environment she created. When this student expressed his desire to attend a camp that his peers were going to, Patti acted. She secured a scholarship for him and ensured he had clothes, shoes, bedding and spending money. Every day, Patti arrives with enthusiasm, eager to share her passion for learning with her students.
Despite facing personal challenges including open-heart surgery, she maintained her positive demeanor and provided an outstanding learning experience. Even during her recovery, her primary concern was the well-being and progress of her students. Many students have returned after graduating to express how significantly she impacted their educational journeys and their lives. Patti invests her heart and soul into her students every day, encouraging them to become the best versions of themselves. Patti Dalon is truly a Teacher Who Rocks.
Linda Madden

Linda Madden is a Kindergarten Teacher at H&M Potter School in Bayville. Nominated by Principal Andrea Cimino, Linda has been in education for 10 years.
Mrs. Madden’s classroom is a nurturing and caring environment where her young students build a foundation for success. Her background in reading instruction ensures that her students leave kindergarten with the tools needed to help them on their educational journey. Mrs. Madden designs creative hands-on lessons that are fun while also allowing the students to practice important skills.
It is not unusual to see her students up and moving around the classroom or collaborating in small groups. She also works hard to meet the emotional needs of her young learners. She creates routines and expectations that help all her students to thrive in their own way.

Gale Paff is a Chemistry Teacher at Wall High School. Nominated by one of her student’s parents, Jacqueline Castellano, Gale has been in education for 29 years. Ms. Paff is a remarkable Honors & AP Chemistry teacher whose impact on her students extends far beyond the classroom.
She approaches teaching with a nurturing, yet challenging attitude – ensuring that her students not only grasp the material but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Her infectious enthusiasm fosters a love for chemistry in her students. In addition to her teaching skills, Gale instills a sense of responsibility in her students by encouraging them to approach challenges with confidence.
Initially as Jacqueline’s daughter walked into Honors Chemistry, she was skeptical of the class and teacher, but now she comes home every day and says amazing things about Gale’s class. Danielle Genovese is a Special Education Teacher at Ridgeway Elementary School in Manchester. Nominated by her colleagues Valerie Schaefer & Crystal Policastro, Danielle has been in education for 14 years. Whether her students are struggling or gifted, Danielle understands their needs and believe they all deserve the opportunity to be pushed forward.
At the beginning of this school year, Danielle was an interventionist and worked with the school’s most at-risk students. She has been trained in programs that enable her to give intervention to the most fragile students in reading and help her be an interventionist and continue to teach her students how to read. Recently, Danielle was re-assigned to teach a self-contained classroom of students with disabilities. While being moved during the school year is not ideal and can be challenging, Danielle took her new assignment in stride.
As a respected member of the staff, Danielle is often selected to participate in a wide variety of committees & projects in which she takes an active (and in most cases) leadership role. As a mom, she knows how important it is to teach her own children the value of supporting your school community. She volunteers for extracurriculars and brings her young children with her. An amazing addition to the staff since joining the Red Bank School District in 2016, Mrs. Coco has not only served as a Math teacher but she’s been an active member of the AVID team, which helps students develop the essential skills they need to succeed in college.
AVID focuses on supporting students from underrepresented groups, empowering them to achieve academic success and pursue higher education. Mrs. Coco’s passion for guiding these students has made a significant impact on their lives. Mrs. Coco is dedicated to mentoring students through Homework Club, where she provides math support and helps students tackle their academic challenges. She has also served as the Head Coach of the girls’ basketball team for the past four years.

Mrs. Gaglioti exemplifies excellence in education by integrating creative teaching methods that inspire a deep curiosity for science among students.
Her innovative approach seamlessly connects scientific principles with artistic discipline, fostering a unique and engaging learning environment. Mrs. Gaglioti consistently goes above and beyond to nurture students’ potential. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Gaglioti has become a beacon of hope for LGBTQ+ teens who have been forced out of their homes due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Conchetta Moynihan

Conchetta Moynihan is a Special Education Teacher at Lanes Mills Elementary School in Brick. Nominated by fellow teacher Dena Balo, Conchetta has been in education for 19 years.
Mrs. Moynihan began her teaching career as one of the pioneering educators in the center-based autism program, specifically teaching kindergarten. Conchetta’s expertise spans various special education settings, including self-contained Learning Disabled classrooms, resource classrooms & inclusive environments.
Her students don’t just learn, they thrive. Beyond her classroom work, Mrs. Moynihan serves as a leader and role model for her colleagues, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and support. Many former students and their families maintain contact with her, often attributing their child’s success to the strong foundation Mrs. Moynihan helped to create.

Eva Finamore

Eva Finamore is an Art Teacher at Berkeley Township Elementary School in Bayville. Nominated by Assistant Principal Michael Conforti, Eva has been in education (and a cornerstone of the Berkeley community) for 47 years. Her impact on the school and its students goes far beyond the art room.
Eva’s dedication to her craft and her students is nothing short of inspiring. She makes art come alive and encourages creativity and self-expression in every student who walks through her door. Her classroom is not just a space for learning but a place where students feel supported, valued & empowered to explore their artistic potential.
Beyond her teaching, Eva takes great pride in transforming the school building into a vibrant, welcoming environment that displays various pieces of art from all students. She even convinces her husband Joe to help her and they both can be seen in any one of our wings rearranging art based on the season or the school event. Her love for art and teaching is so great that three of her daughters have followed in her footsteps and are successful art teachers in other districts.
Eva regularly volunteers her time for events like the school plays, PTA events, concerts and the annual Multicultural event. She gives up her prep periods to work with her art helpers who are generally students struggling to connect with other adults. She is someone who goes the extra mile to ensure her students feel encouraged and appreciated.
Her kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication leave a lasting impression on the students and staff of . For over four decades, Mrs. Finamore has been a shining example of what it means to be a “Teacher Who Rocks.” She embodies passion, creativity & selflessness all while making a difference in the lives of her students and the entire Berkeley community. Diana Bradley
Ridgeway Elementary School

Diana Bradley is a 3rd Grade Teacher at Ridgeway Elementary School in Manchester. Nominated by school secretary Ellen McCann, Diana has been an educator for 24 years.
Ellen says that during the 12 years she’s worked with Diana, she continues to amaze with her enthusiasm and love of education. Diana is an exceptionally skilled and dedicated educator with many students in her class whose first language is not English, which can make her job as a classroom teacher even more challenging.
However, she is especially nurturing to these young children, and they all respond positively to her pleasant and optimistic teaching methods. Some of Mrs. Bradley’s former students who have moved on to Middle and High School will stop by Ridgeway Elementary to visit, and still talk about her. She tells her students “Once a Bradley, always a Bradley.”
Diana is also an instructor for Ridgeway Elementary School’s after-school Title I Program “Power Hour,” three afternoons a week, which she thoroughly enjoys. In December 2023, Diana scheduled and facilitated a Native American Lenape Tribe presentation for students and teachers which was received with so much positive feedback as it was both interesting and informative!
Diana and her husband Ken are also very active with volunteering and assisting with the marching band at their daughter’s school, Toms River High School East. She has non-stop energy! This kind, wonderful, and passionate educator goes above and beyond her job each day! Mrs. Diana Bradley is most definitely worthy of joining the Teachers Who Rock Class of 2025.
