OCL Barnegat Branch / September Programs

Although summer is coming to an end, there’s a lot of fall fun to look forward to.

The Ocean County Library Barnegat Branch is offering an array of programs for all ages and interests to fill your calendar.

  • Book Café: Tuesday, September 6

    Share your new favorites and hear from fellow book lovers. New members are always welcome.

  • “Rubies of the Pines”: Wednesday, September 7

    Learn about Ocean County’s cranberry heritage from staffers of Cloverdale Farm County Park, and take home some recipes for delectable cranberry treats. Registration is required.

  • Teen Drop-In Gaming: Wednesday, September 7, 14, 21, 28

    Challenge your friends in online trivia, video action and board games.

  • Teen Anime Club: Wednesday, September 7

    New members are always welcome to enjoy all things anime and manga, and to watch and discuss a movie.

  • Paws for Reading: Thursday, September 8

    Avid readers of all ages can practice their skills in the company of a gentle therapy dog. Drop in.

  • EWE Knit and Crochet: Thursday, September 8, 22 / Saturday, September 10, 24

    Bring your supplies and join yarn crafters of all ages.

  • Teddy Bear Picnic: Friday, September 9

    Children age 3 to 5 can bring their special plush toys and celebrate National Teddy Bear Day with stories, rhymes, and a pretend picnic. Registration is required.

  • Monday Movies: September 12, 19, 26

    See new, exciting films on our big screen.

  • Baby & Me: Tuesday, September 13

    Infants and toddlers up to 18 months of age and their caregivers are invited to enjoy rhymes, songs and stories. Registration is required.

  • 9/11: Tuesday, September 13

    Moises Gomez, an emergency responder on duty at New York City’s World Trade Center during the 1993 and 2001 terrorist attacks, will share recollections of the horrors that unfolded, his decision to remain at Ground Zero through cleanup and recovery, and the spirit of voluntarism that swept across America in its aftermath. Registration is required.

  • Happy Tooth Storytime: Wednesday, September 14

    Youngsters age 2 to 5 learn helpful dental hygiene habits through stories and a craft, with staffers of Ocean Pediatric Dental Associates of Toms River. Registration is required.

  • Family Movie Night: Thursday, September 15

    Drop in to view a computer-generated romantic thriller.

  • Grandparents Day Family Storytime: Friday, September 16

    Celebrate the joy of grandparents with a themed story and craft, suitable for all ages. Registration is required.

  • Teen Advisory Board: Wednesday, September 21

    Teens age 12 to 18 can plan programs, earn community service hours, and find out how to qualify for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.

  • Friends of the Barnegat Library General Meeting: Wednesday, September 21

    New members are welcome to join the group that supports the Barnegat Branch through creative fundraisers.

  • Preschool Storytime: Friday, September 23

    Stories, songs, and crafts for youngsters age 3 to 5. Registration is required.
