Our next guests are Christopher Spallina and Police Chief Robert Burton of Highlands Police Department. The Phoenix organization is a non-profit organization with a local branch in Belmar. They provide a sober active community for those battling addiction and/or wishing to love a sober lifestyle. They offer something for everyone at all levels of ability, from group fitness, cycling, strength training, and yoga, or just meeting for coffee. It’s all led by peers and supporters who have a deep connection to the mission. The phoenix is joining forces with the Highlands Police Department for a “Unhooked” Ruck/Walk Food Drive to benefit our Lady of perpetual Help Food Pantry in Highlands, and to raise awareness for addiction recovery, PTSD and suicide awareness.
