CDC Offers Alternate New Year’s Eve Celebration Tips
This New Year’s Eve is unlike any other, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is urging people to skip the parties this year.
If you do host or attend a small gathering, talk with guests ahead of time to set expectations and take steps to make celebrating the New Year safer.
Here are some alternate ways to ring in 2021:
1) Have a ‘virtual celebration’ – stay home and watch a virtual concert or New Year’s special, or maybe even enjoy a virtual meal with friends and family.
2) Have a ‘pajama party’ – the great thing about staying home? No dress code! Kick back in your jammies and watch a movie or play a board game – maybe even order delivery or takeout.
3) Plan a ‘front door countdown’ – get in touch with your neighbors and stand at the front door to count down to midnight.
4) Get in touch with family and friends – the pandemic doesn’t mean you have to cut off ALL contact with loved ones – give them a call, send a text, or share a video conference.
