As you're getting ready to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters or prepping for parties this Halloween, you'll want to watch a movie to get you in the mood for all things ghoulish.

Here are a few of the best Halloween movies to check out:

The Addams Family

Venture to 1313 Mockingbird lane for a Halloween movie that's a little bit scary, but also funny. It's perfect if you still want to be able to sleep at night. Plus, Wednesday Addams is the best. It's available on Netflix.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Is it a Halloween movie? Is it a Christmas movie? It's sort of both, and that's what makes it ideal for this time of year. Re-live this classic movie, which tells the tale of Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town, as he accidentally finds his way into Christmas Town. Watch it on Netflix.

The Sixth Sense

It came out in 1999, but it's still one of the creepiest movies of all time. It gave us the classic quote, "I see dead people" and features a young Haley Joel Osment as a boy who communicates with spirits who don't know they're dead. Check it out on Netflix.

Seven

Brad Pitt stars as a detective who's on the hunt for a serial killer. If you've seen the end, it's burned into your brain forever. If not, go to Amazon and rent or buy this movie immediately.

It's totally fair game to head to the drugstore the day after Halloween, buy some discount candy, and then continue to watch these Halloween movies to keep the spirit alive even after the day is over. We won't tell.
