Ric Flair Already Wishes His ‘Last Match’ Wasn’t His Last Match

Ric Flair made headlines with his much-publicized "last match" on July 31. The problem is less than two weeks later, The Nature Boy is already having regrets.

Flair shared on his To Be The Man podcast (h/t Sportskeeda), "I wish I hadn't said it was my last match. That’s gonna get heat. Hell, they wanted me to wrestle in Puerto Rico in Saturday night. I said 'Guys, I cannot get in the ring one week later.'"

He continued, "The guy looked at me and said 'Well, you know what, could retire in Puerto Rico can't you?' No, no, no that's not the point."

Flair's last match was a tag team bout. He paired with his real-life son-in-law Andrade El Idolo against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Flair and El Idolo won the match. However, Flair also admitted on To Be The Man (h/t WrestlingInc.com), "I don't think people realized that I passed out twice. My regimentation for training was so strict that I kept my weight. I wanted my perfect weight to be like 220 going in."

He noted, "...I didn't hydrate because I had it in my mind that I had to weigh 219. Anyway, I went to the ring at 217 pounds. What happened during the body of the match, I just became dehydrated. When I was standing on the apron, I looked at Jay, which started the whole wheel of motion. I said, 'Man, I think I'm getting sick,' because I was getting light-headed."
