The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing was founded with a singular mission: to cater to the subacute and long term care needs of the area’s expanding and varied Jewish population.

Interview with Deborah Mileto RN, BSN Director of Nursing at The Jewish Home

About Deborah "Dee":
I have been a Registered Nurse since June 2000. I returned to school when my youngest child went to Kindergarten and intended to become a dental hygienist. My sister had just become a nurse and was working with patients suffering from HIV. I was so fascinated by the work she was doing I decided to change my career path. I began my nursing career on that very same HIV unit and was promoted to Nurse manager after a few years. I was very happy working in that facility in Staten Island and became the Associate Director of Nursing in 2009; unfortunately the facility was having financial issues and was sold in 2011. I then began working in Brooklyn for Brookdale Hospital. I became the Associate Director for the long term care division and after six months I was promoted to Director of Nursing. In the fall of 2018 my family decided to move to New Jersey from Staten Island. I interviewed for the position of Director of Nursing at The Jewish Home in January 2020 and began working there February 2020. I am passionate about providing our patients with quality care and the highest possible quality of life.
