For The Locals

We’re smack dab in the middle of January. And if you have been participating in Dry January, like me, or you just so happen to be sober, then you know it can be a bit of a struggle when all your friends are drinking and you’re not.

Nobody likes to feel FOMO (fear of missing out). Luckily though, there are plenty of places around the Jersey Shore that serve fantastic mocktails, as well as cocktails, so nobody has to feel left out!

Down below, I’ve put together of six different bars and restaurants across Monmouth and Ocean Counties that have a dedicated list of mocktails. So if you find yourself in a group of people with mixed-sobriety, maybe suggest one of these places!

If you’re going out with friends, though, and you don’t end up at a place with a dedicated mocktail menu, you can always ask the bartender if they can make any of their cocktails nonalcoholic. Personally, I’ve found that if a place has a cocktail menu (so generally not sports bars or dive bars) they really won’t have an issue with making you a mocktail, even if it’s not written down.

If you do go to one of the spots on the list, take pictures and tag us on social media! We’d love to see how you’re spending your time this Dry January!
