Ocean County Library’s 4th Annual Autism Resources Fair will be having instructional workshops aimed to support individuals and families from onset through adulthood. The Fair will take place Saturday, Apr. 18th, 10 AM at the Toms River Branch.
Workshops will include:
· “When Your Child Is Diagnosed: NJ State Services for Children with Developmental Disabilities,” by Ocean Partnership for Children, Inc
· “Safety Measures: Protecting Your Loved One,” by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office
· “Navigating the Division of Developmental Disabilities Service System,” by Nkechi Ugoji-Okoli, LSW, Senior Coordinator, Transition to 21 Education, Division of Developmental Disabilities
Participants will receive Certificates of Completion for each workshop attended.
Other Fair features will include “Songs & Silliness” by Mr. Jon & Friends, a sensory play area, therapy dogs, trivia for teens, an adult creative space, balloon art by Cheryl Schwendel, and face painting and costumed characters by A Land and Sea Mermaid.
Registration is not required to attend this free event. Registration for each workshop and for “Songs & Silliness” begins March 1.
