She’s only five years old, but Lily Rose Cramer and her parents have already faced the unthinkable. Doctors at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have diagnosed Lily Rose with aggressive Neuroblastoma, a Stage 4 cancer.

She has an 18-month battle ahead of her with four rounds of chemotherapy. Her parents need to drive back and forth, an hour and a half trip from their home, and also take care of Lily Rose’s brothers, ages 3 and 8.

To help the Cramer family, the American Legion Post #493 is hosting “Love for Lily,” a fundraiser on Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 1 to 6pm at American Legion Post #493, 420 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Lily Cramer Fund for medical bills and expenses.

Activities include a Chinese auction, antique car show, bake sale, 50/50 raffle, face painting, balloon animals, fire truck rides, a photo booth, door prizes and the Fun Bus of Ocean County. Monetary donations and items for the Chinese auction will be gladly accepted.

Admission is $5 for children 12 years and under and $10 for adults. Purchase tickets in advance or at the door.

For more information, contact Chairwoman Jessica Miller-Reineke, who is also Lily Rose’s preschool teacher, at 609-713-4088; or Co-chairwoman, Carol Miller-True, American Legion Post #493 at 609-296-9771. Donations should be made payable to American Legion Post #493 and note Lily Cramer Fund in the memo. The American Legion’s nonprofit tax ID is 23-7283502.
