History of Women’s Clothing: 1780 to Early 1900s

Historian and seamstress Pati Githens will discuss the functions that women’s clothing served and the styles that grew from necessities of living in America’s first full century. Members of the Monmouth County Historical Association will be attired in handmade reproductions of women’s garb of the period.
