Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library
The newest component in the Ocean County Library system’s commitment to public service, Sensory Space @ Jackson, will officially open to the public with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 PM Tuesday, April 4.Equipped similarly to the Joseph H. Vicari Sensory Space in OCL’s Toms River Branch, the new addition on the Jackson Branch’s upper level is designed to relieve anxiety and stress, promote well-being, encourage communication, and offer support to people with varying degrees of sensory processing development who feel inhibited in social situations.Among its features are a musical touch wall, fiber-optic color changing light waterfall, primary-color crawley mat with matching cubes, sensory canopy, LED illuminators, and LED fiber-optic sensory beanbag chair. The space is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required to visit Sensory Space @ Jackson. Schools and groups can schedule tours by viewing the calendar at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events, visiting the Jackson Branch, 2 Jackson Drive, or calling (732) 928-4400, ext. 3823.
