Beach Haven 125th Anniversary Paddle Challenge

The Beach Haven 125th Anniversary Paddle Challenge is an event featuring stand-up-paddleboard (SUP) races and other activities for adults and children to raise money to support the restoration and preservation of Mordecai Island.

On behalf of the Borough of Beach Haven and Mordecai Land Trust, Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club will host the Paddle Challenge at 401 Berkeley Ave, Beach Haven from 1-4pm on Saturday, August 29th. Registration begins at noon. The events will include competitive and fun SUP races for experienced and novice paddle boarders in front of LEHYC and along/around Mordecai Island. The main SUP race will be the last leg in a three race 2015 LBI SUP Race Series sponsored by South End Surf ‘N Paddle.

Net profits from the Paddle Challenge will go towards MLT’s contribution to the project and other related MLT causes.

Please register in advance at www.125thanniversarypaddlechallenge.eventbrite.com or at South End Surf N’ Paddle. $25 per registrant which will include all SUP events, food and a commemorative t-shirt. Spectators and children are free.

Following the Paddle Challenge, the Borough of Beach Haven and Beach Haven Future will host the 125th Anniversary “Bay Bash” party starting at 4pm at neighboring Walsh Field on Ocean St., featuring the band Franklin Turnpike, food from local restaurants, and beer/alcoholic beverages for sale.
