In honor of Black History Month, the Ocean County Library’s Toms River Branch will present Keith Henley’s portrayal of James Forten, the respected Philadelphia businessman who fought in the Revolutionary War, defended his city in the War of 1812, worked to achieve a Constitutional guarantee of full citizenship for people of color, and advocated for equality for women and people of color throughout his life.
