It’s Around Ocean County with Lisa Anderson and Lisa is joined by Tom Weatherall, president and CEO of Make A Wish New Jersry. Make A Wish is the largest wish granting organization in the world for critically ill children. The New Jersey chapter has granted over 595 wishes this past fiscal year. Make A Wish NJ has granted a total of over 11,000 life changing wishes for these children. Over 75 percent of wishes requested are travel related. Unfortunately, this year’s pandemic has caused many of these wishes to be put on hold. Some wishes that are non travel related such as online shopping sprees, photography equipment and even a puppy have been fulfilled. However Make A Wish NJ is facing a crisis and is asking for help as we continue to quarantine. Volunteers are always welcome and they will be accepting new applications for the coming year.
