Around Ocean County continues with Executive Director and founder of People’s Pantry, Pat Donahue. Did you know the People’s Pantry also partners with JBJ (Jon Bon Jovi Kitchen) in which those in need can donate time to the kitchen in return for a voucher for food for their family? The Pantry is set up like a supermarket, hoping it will help ease the stigma for the working poor to have to enter a food pantry. The People’s Pantry is not affiliated with any church or Government Organization, therefor the Pantry relies heavily on community donations, fundraisers and volunteers. They are also connected to the Ocean County VoTech Culinary Institute which provides hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to those in need. For more information, contact Thepeoplespantry,org.
