October is breast cancer awareness month. The Susan G Komen began in 1980 with a promise between two sisters, Susan G Komen lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of thirty six, and her sister Nancy Brinker established the Susan G Komen Foundation in her honor with the vision of a world without breast cancer. Their goal is to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the US by 2026.
