We’re joined by Joann Burney. Joann founded Allaire Community Farm along with her husband Sean in 2015. This non-profit organization’s mission is to rescue animals who then rescue people. Many non-profits are struggling due to the COVID crisis. Allaire Community Farm is no exception. They have had to cut many programs such as theraputic riding for children with special needs, as well as veterans with PTSD. Classes for students to learn organic farming, mental health classes and support , birthday parties, etc have all been put on hold. Joann discusses how they began an organic farm market that has fortunately offset some of the overhead which amounts to twenty one thousand dollars a month. Curbside pick up is available, as well as social distance shopping for the market, as well as the petting zoo.
Allaire Comminity Farm is a sanctuary where passionate people make an impact on the communityby creating an encouraging environment that fosters healing and hope. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit allairecommunityfarm.org.
