We’re back with guest Dr. Rachana Kalkarni, President of the American Heart Association of South and Central Jersey. February is Heart Health Awareness Month. The AMA reminds women to be sure to learn the warning signs and symptoms of heart disease and stroke, see their doctor regularly, and learn their family history. As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting and back or jaw pain.
